After reconnecting with a lot people from my past and making new friends on Facebook, I discovered that many were more productive than ever in music, while some had expanded their horizons into other fields. Here are some things I’ve seen and heard that’s impressed me.
My old friend, Ann Munday, who used to run Chrysalis Music in the US, has posted some of her excellent Artwork. She says,“You know that time at school, when you’re supposed to work out what you want to do. My passion was painting. Home life was a nightmare and the art classroom was where I spent as much time as possible. Except for the first 2 months working for a bank, all jobs I took, related to art in some way. And I ended up in the art dept of Charles Hansen music books. From there the music biz fed my creative need, working with songwriters and artists.” The watercolor, “Tea with Klee”, I painted as a gift for my sister in law and brother living in the UK, as a thank you for my visit.”
When I saw some of Ann’s artwork, I thought it would a great way to kick off my list this year of last minute gift suggestions. She has limited editions of her work available. To see more and get more information you can contact Ann Munday at email@example.com
ART MUNSON OVER50MUSIC.COM
My longtime friend and sometime collaborator, Art Munson has an excellent website where you can find new and old releases from “demographically challenged artists” (anyone older than Miley Cyrus). You can also access “The Music Library Report” his wildly popular new free service where music creators rate music libraries. http://over50music.com
Alicia Keys, who’s a fan of WHOPPY AND STREAKER”S 99 CHRISTMAS MUSIC VIDEOS, has a new album that would fit nicely under anybody’s tree. Here’s the first single “It Doesn’t Mean Anything”
Who knew that songwriter Allee Willis (“Boogie Wonderland”, “I’ll Be There For You” (the theme from “Friends”) would someday have a museum dedicated to “Kitsch”? Many of her own remarkable works of art are available here. http://www.alleewillis.com/
ARTIE KORNFELD “PIED PIPER OF WOODSTOCK”
My old pal Artie, in his new book, “The Pied Piper of Woodstock”, not only gives us the inside scoop on his songwriting career (“Dead Man’s Curve”, “The Rain, The Park, and Other Things”), but also how he and his partner Michael Lang created the cultural event of our generation, WOODSTOCK 1969. http://www.artiekornfeld-woodstock.com/
In addition to being inducted this year into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, Doug Dillard of the Dillards, has one of the best sites for everything country on the web called “Hillbilly Hollywood”. He and his wife Vikki Salee are always turning me on to something interesting! firstname.lastname@example.org
B. J. THOMAS
One of the top singers of our generation, B.J. Thomas (“Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head”, “Hooked On A Feeling”) has a great new CD out that’s worth at least a hundred listens. “ONCE I LOVED”, Includes a remake of “Rock and Roll Lullaby”.

Michael Buble posted his new video up on Facebook several times. Since then “Haven’t Met You Yet”, has become my favorite! Here it is from his Number One Album “CRAZY LOVE”
And finally here’s an idea for a one of a kind Christmas Card you can have for free! I’ve gotten hundreds of e-mails asking permission to send out my video of a song I co-wrote for Michael Jackson “Little Christmas Tree” (Clinton Jr./Wayne) as a Christmas card.
Here’s the video, directed by Sebastian Prooth. If you like it please feel free to share it with a friend, but if you LOVE it feel free to share it with your entire address book!
