THE LAURA PINTO OLDIES CONNECTION
May 2, 2012
WHEN I STARTED BLOGGING ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO, WHENEVER I NEEDED INFORMATON ON SONGS AND ARTISTS OF THE ‘60S, ‘70S, AND ‘80S I WENT TO LAURA PINTO OLDIE CONNECTION AND FOUND WHATEVER I NEED…SINCE THEN I’VE GONE BACK DOZENS OF TIMES.
NOW LAURA HAS UPDATED HER ALREADY FANTASTIC SITE AND WELCOMES ALL OF YOU TO VISIT
My intent is and always has been for Oldies Connection to be a “one-stop-shopping place” (as I refer to it) for info on singers and groups from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s … that is: Where are they now? Who among them are still touring and recording and making appearances? From the beginning, Oldies Connection has had links to artist sites and official fan pages as well as lists like birthdays, passings, oldies radio stations, etc., plus a few original writeups. In 2011 I undertook a massive expansion of the site which resulted in more than 900 (!) new pages being added. Each page is dedicated to a specific artist or group, with links to official sites (where applicable); social networks (also where applicable); and YouTube search results/channels and Wikipedia pages. This translates to literally thousands of links. The Artists of Oldies Connection page has links for all of these individual artist pages in alphabetical order by first name, so it’s easy for everyone to find their favorites.
Oldies Connection is ever changing and expanding; it will never be a “static” website. I plan on continuing to add to the site, including more in the way of original writings, reviews, bios, and so forth. I am very pleased with the way Oldies Connection has evolved since I first conceived it in 2003, and I’m most appreciative of the responses I’ve received from visitors to and fans of the website. Thank you all for stopping by! : http://lpintop.tripod.com/oldiesconnection/ OR www.oldiesconnection.com)

Laura does indeed deserve much recognition and appreciation for her work of keeping the birthstones and heroes of popular music alive, much of it a tireless labor of love. Her wealth of knowledge, history and information is remarkable — indeed, she knows more about my works and journey than I myself do. No wonder then that, beyond being a constant and reliable reference source, I trust her to maintains critical elements of my website.
Bravo, Laura!
And Bravo, Artie, for recognizing her!
