California Wildfires Burning Out Of Control!

36 hours ago I was ready to evacuate my California desert home when wildfires were only 20 miles away. The 30 mile per hour winds have subsided, for the moment, and the raging fire, seems to have changed direction. If the wind starts up again, however, the extremely dry vegetation, combined with temperatures of up to 114 Degrees, could bring the blaze to my doorstep in a matter of hours!

My cats, Whoppy and Streaker, and I have accepted an invitation to “chill out” at a friend’s  place a few hundred miles from here. Thank you for your prayers, dozens of calls and e-mails. They are deeply appreciated.
